17mpg with 75% city driving. I run about 2200 rpms at 75-ish mph and will get around 21-22. I am happy with that. No shell, open bed, truck in sig, stock tires, 3.55 rear. KD

heh heh, I wondered that too...gotta mean 17 round town, eh? ;-) My 97 w/4.10 & my 92 w/3.54 both seem to do nearly the same - 16 to 17mpg city(with a/c always on) and right @ 20mpg hwy running 62mph @1650rpm. Towing hwy usually around 15mpg. Never go faster than 62-65mph(ever), but obviously top speed affects hwy mpg much more than load. My .02 cents!! :-)

I think the smaller pumps affect mpg to, my 160 pump will obviously use alot less fuel than a 215 pump. 27 city i'm still very skeptical of, that just seems alittle steep no matter what pump or mods u have. I dunno, i'm happy with 19mpg with the kind of driving I did last tank, i'll report back after this conservative tank, lol.

man it be that good stuff i was just waiting for someone to hate on my milage. i simply replied to the thread just as yall did. I got it!!!! i know what my problem is, im not dumping enough smoke and not cool like everyone else. man, i knew there was something i was missing. i'll be back, im gonna go out and move everything full forward plate, afc housing, star wheel, aneroid screw, change the front plug, heck i might just gut the afc altogether, then yall can answer my new thread: Help, my mileage is horrible.
but then ill be cool
sorry proudpapa97, i thought you wanted an honest answer i'll be back with lower mileage numbers in a minute

have u checked ur speed with a gps? I just don't know if a 215 pump can do 27mpg stock or modded. My 160 pump stock got 21 best cruising 55, i'm just thinking ur turning more miles than ur actually going.

I'm calling bs on an averate 27 town no matter how you drive. 27 max, I believe. Heck i've hit over 24 in mine. But as for an average, especially in town I don't think you coud fool anyone into believing that.

My mileage since I got the truck 11/2 yrs ago-14 to 16 city, 18 to 21 hgwy, 12.5 to 13.5 towing 4000# travel trailer.Above 2000rpm's my mileage really drops. At 65mph, truck is at 1950rpm with auto, 4.10 gears and 265 tires. At your speed and rpm's, I'd say you have 3.54 gears.

With my '95 single cab, stock with NV4500 and 3.54's, I consistently get 21 mpg. My fuel guage is out, so I reset my odometer every tank. I've gotten over 700 miles to a tank ( I don't like to push it that far, I prefer to fill up about 650) with no problems. I don't remember the rpm's (maybe 1800@70mph?), but my driving is probably split 50/50 city/hwy. I've always had that kind of mileage since I bought it new in '95. Haven't pulled in a long time, so I don't have any figures being loaded. Sure beats the mpg of my wife's Avalanche...
