12v for drag racing
A 2nd gen will have the p-pump which is preferred for its fueling capabilities and tunability. If you are looking for 1/4 mile times a standard cab short bed 4wd auto would be a nice rig. You can get in that time range without taking the pump off the truck.
I would o-ring the head and put studs in, big injectors, and twins. Build the tranny and you will be there. Twins will make it easy to drive on the street. If you want to use it as a daily driver don't go bigger than 191 delivery valves.

do some research on here first before you ask questions like that... every question you could possibly have has been answered at least 5 times before. not trying to be rude just trying to point you in the right direction to find your answers faster...
Well before you start runnin 12's you got to make sure that increase the displacement of yer flux capacitor so the the glow plugs can get hot enough to get that bad boy started when you are runnin 30 plus degrees of timing otherwise you sir are going no where fast.
You got to start somewhere right.

12valvesmoke, I agree you can find alot of specific information using the search function, wether it be a kdp fix, or twins setups, or injector questions; however there is a cluster of information this person needs to acquire to see if his aspirations of running 12's is possible and the best way to do it. Maybe someone running 12's could chime in with their setup to provide some useful information. Stop whining when someone asks a question.
