12v Banjo Bolt

I am ready to hook up my fuel pressue gauge and have almost everything to do it. I would like to get a spare banjo bolt though.

Anyone have a new/used/tapped/or untapped banjo bolt that you would consider selling me? Just incase Murphy lets me have it while taping mine. LOL

What bolt are you going to tap? If you do the 14mm right on the IP, its the right size to run an R (or 11/32" if you don't have letter) bit through it. Thats for an 1/8" NPT fitting. If you run the bit down the middle of the bolt, it will be real hard to mess up. I wouldn't worry about having a spare banjo as long as you are competent with a tap.

For the cost of buying one for a spare why don't you just buy the pre-tapped from geno garage? Then you don't have to worry about tapping anything

After much back and forth discussion last I heard they only work for 24 valves.

On my 98, the IP banjo bolts are 14mm, and the rest are 12mm. The tapped one I got from Geno's when I first bought my 24v is a 12mm bolt. That would work on the fuel filter banjos. Still cheaper and easier and faster to just tap the one thats right on the IP. JMO.

That would work on the fuel filter banjos.
But then you'd lose the bleed screw right?
I like having the gauge tap on the IP, so much more room down there.

I plan on taping the inlet one on the pump. I sure would hate to leave my truck sit because of a $2.00 bolt. Personally I would rather have another one just in case. I am sure I can do it, and if all goes right I will have a spare. Surely someone out there has one to sell.

Some people say a gutted overflow valve will work.
I don't see how because the nut that holds the guts in is bolt thread, not pipe thread.
Maybe it's close enough that whatever you screw in taps itself in.

CC149,
I thought like you and ordered a couple banjo bolts just in case I messed up.Good luck finding one for $2.By the time I paid shipping I had close to $20 in my two extras. If you read Infidel's write up on how to install a fuel pressure gage, he gives the outfit to get them from.

When I used to install and sell more FP gauge set ups I bought the banjos for $6 each but had to buy 24 at a time.
Now the cheapest I can find to buy just one online is $16 before shipping.
They might even be cheaper than that at the dealer.
