'04 Flywheel Housing on '97 12v
Hey guys.
Helping a good friend do a transmission swap. We're putting a 2wd '04 NV5600 6-speed into his previous 47RE powered '97 12v 2wd. We wanted to use the '04 flywheel cover that bolts to the back of the engine so we wouldn't have to get a starter spacer, but two of the 8 bolt holes don't line up. The starter spacer is $120 from Cummins and an estimated 15 day wait. He wants to leave the two bolts out, but I did the math and it looks like a BAAAD idea to only have 6 bolts.
Here's the question: I know some of you fellas have done this swap, what did you do?
Thanks in advance fellas...
