July Truck of the Month nominations - Essay Contest!
July Truck of the Month nominations - Essay Contest!
This month, every DTR member is eligible (unless you won TOM already). Any truck (and I use that term loosely) with any engine could win this month. But there's a catch - you have to write an essay.
Post a pic of your truck from your DTR gallery. Then, in 100 words or less, explain why your truck should be DTR's Truck of the Month for July. Logic, humor, emotional appeal, pathetic whining, thinly veiled threats on my life - whatever you think will work, go for it.
I'll pick what I think are the best three entries and put them in the poll.
Sharpen those pencils!
Remember that your nominating pic MUST be from your DTR photo gallery. It can be any kind of truck, you just have to currently own and drive it. You must write an essay of 100 words or less. All non-conforming entries will be deleted without further explanation.
Truck Of the Month Procedure
* Around the 1st of the month, we will post a thread with the winner for the previous month’s poll in the General Diesel Discussion section of the forums.
* At the same time, we will post a “TOM Candidate” thread in the same forum. In this thread we will announce the category of trucks that will be accepted as possible candidates. (1st Gen 250, 350, 2nd Gen 2500, 3500, 3rd Gen 2500, 3500, MegaCab, etc.)
* If your truck falls into the chosen category for that month and you would like to have a chance to be in the poll, then you can nominate your truck by posting ONE picture from your gallery in that thread.
* NOTE: The picture MUST come from your Diesel Truck Resource Member Photo Gallery!
(Anything else will be deleted.)
* You can also list some of the mods and accessories on your rig in the same post. Please post only once in that thread. If your truck is not selected for the poll or it is but it doesn't win, you may nominate it again when your category comes back around.
* Previous Winners of the TOM will not be eligible to participate. (Previous Winner being defined as truck and/or DTR Member)
* The “TOM Candidate” thread will be open from around the 1st of the month until around the 14th of the month. That gives you two weeks to submit your truck.
* At this time it will be locked, the three poll candidates will be chosen and the poll will be posted on or around the 15th . The poll will be voted on until the end of the month and we start all over again on the 1st of the next month by posting the winner in one thread and posting the “TOM Candidate” thread for the next month's category.
Special THANKS to Tim Barber at TRE Diesel Performance for sponsoring the TOM Award plaques!

Tom
My 1988 W-250 and me in April. The story of this truck could cover pages. I've gone broke paying for $5.00 a gallon for diesel, while having fun riding in style in the old dodge. I flipped her upside down and rebuilt her. The life lesson's I learned though owning this truck were heartbreak, patience and diesel's. If I could go back in time , would I change things ? Honestly I don't know, I'll decide when I get there. Ahh life

My wife bought a new 300c so I got her truck which she bought new.I always liked the truck then I found DTR. Then I learned of all the good things about these trucks and all the goodies for them, now I love my truck. My son works on it for me as I have a heart condition and it gives me time to be with my son who'll get this truck when I'm gone. Also the truck has brought me to this site which I also love. Very interesting posts and guys. Good luck to all in this months running.

I have been wanting a Dodge diesel since about 1994. I was too poor (young) back then and finally around 2004 I was able to afford one and was never happy with the options. Once I saw a Mega, I knew this was the truck for me and here I am!! The exact truck I wanted
And with new tires and wheel on the way it will be even better!!!

I sold my old '93 to put a roof over my family's head and drove junk for several years. I mean JUNK. (1/2 ton gassers and even a 2wd) I even went as low as a non-turbo 6.2l CC GMC........
Then one day driving the highway while taking my kid to school I saw this BEAUTIFUL '92 at a park and sell. That night I casually mentioned it to my wife who said I should go check it out. I told her that if I checked it out, I'd have to drive it. If I drove it, I'd have to buy it. If I bought it, I'd never get rid of it. She told me to check it out.......
Lots of years, lots of miles and lots of mods. I'm not getting rid of it.
