Well this project has hit a snag. The donor engine, which runs like a scalded ape, has a dowel pin that came loose. At some point, after it decided to vacate its residence, it chipped a cam gear tooth, broke the gear housing, and lived in the pan until, at some point, it got stuck on the magnetic drain plug and was gone forever. Good thing I drink, because I may have become upset when I found this problem today.

After replacing the front gear cover and every seal and gasket that was leaking oil I finally got the engine and transmission mated together and installed. I had to relocate 2 crossmembers and I need to get all 3 drives shafts built. Progress is slow but moving ahead.

And to reply to your quote, I have no love for the slush box.

Nice looking work coming from a guy who hates slush boxes too!
You may want to look into a little extra bracing for they divorced mounted NP-205.
I had that set up on my '72 with 38s and it would rock forward and backward as I shifted it from reverse to a forward gear and gave it some power. Using the "man pedal" of course.

I installed a special bracket that was a brace to the T-case.
PM your E-mail address and I will send you a picture of it.

I sent a few pictures. It was a rather crude brace I had made as I was using the truck basically as a trail rig / mud truck.
It did fix the problem which helped me not blast out the rear driveshaft as often.
The U-joint would bind with the large lift, and the really short driveshaft on a short bed truck with that divorced NP-205 T-case. The rocking T-case made it only bind more.
You should have a much better driveshaft angle with less [no?] lift and the longer crew cab length.
