On my 2001 I think it said you could engage/disengage 4X4 up to 50 MPH (80kph) which I did many times and even faster. As for top speed in 4X4 I don't remember seeing anything, I routinely drove mine 65MPH ish.

I have done 60-65 mph with my 9' plow on in 4x4, with no problems. I thought I once read somewhere that 50mph should be a max speed when in 4x4.... Then again max transport speed with the plow on my truck is 45mph according to Boss Plow Co..

As fast as is safe for the conditions is my rule and I believe the law as well....
4X4 is great for going, but no good for stopping....

Shifting into 4x4 is max 50mph according to manual. Manual has no max stated speed while in 4x4. I can say I have driven 60-65 at times for short periods but 50-60 for long periods like 300 miles at a time with no noticable ill affects.
X2 what sixslug said about stopping and conditions
