Did a little prep work on the donor truck, hopefully (time and wife permitting) in the next day or so the engine will be out and on the stand for some cleaning/inspecting and new gaskets where need be. Probably going to adjust the valves and install some new injectors while i have it out.

Noticed the front edges of the fan blades look like they have been sand blasted, any idea what would cause that? Only think I could think of is dry dusty roads.

Looking good....and that oil pan is a nice score!

I noticed that as well. Could have been the oven cleaner i let soak but probably dusty roads. I wish time and money would let me really take off on this build. Gonna be a nice little daily driver.

When I was doing my 2wd to 4wd conversion I had to draw the line on a lot of cosmetics....plenty of time to do that stuff later...get it together and on the road

I hear ya chief. I'm usually not a patient guy but seeing as I have the VW to drive and the dually to have fun in I'm trying to slow down and do things right the first time with the 250. I've worked in plenty of circles on the 350 so I'm trying to larn from my mistakes lol

Got to do a little more prep work on the engine today. Small steps bud, small steps lol

Couldn't get a wrench or socket on the bottom bolt for power steering pump. Will pick up some crows feet tomorrow and get it off

Just need to scrape wipe and tape then make our purdy

Will paint most of the brackets and accessories black with the pump and valve covers

Cummins beige and flat black looks amazing together! BTW...BBQ flat black paint holds up well to heat and the elements. Can't wait to see it all back together.

Thank yall for the compliments. I was going to go with cummins beige and maroon accessories to match the truck but couldn't find high temp maroon paint. In kinda glad, maroon was the wife's idea. It'll be time consuming but i think the end result will be well worth the effort. 4 kiddos with 2 in sports 4 days a week and full time job plus remodeling the house and as all of us are, constantly messing with the daily drivers. It's slow going but I'm chomping at the bit.

Yes sir. Freeze plugs and full gasket kit. I'll most likely leave the head gasket alone since it's a low mileage motor but while it's easy access I'll change out the rest.
