Seems like I remember reading about 100lbs somewhere? I could pack it around but used my front end loader to pull and replace. Not an easy roadside repair...

If yer built like a gorilla, you could pull it by hand, but even then it'll likely cost you back trouble. An engine hoist, or overhead crane is required to do it safely.

I really appreciate the offer for help! It's not leaking anymore and I made it to Kalispell yesterday afternoon. It's tempting to go ahead and do it here but I really want my dad to be able to visit Kalispell and not have to wrench on a truck; also I'd like to take some time a paint the head and valve covers etc when I do it.

He might. I have 2 new ones in stock. Buy them from Volkswagen. Hans auto sells them for ten bucks.

I'll PM you.

To keep running, you can gut the FSS, and shut off with the manual shutoff lever on the side of the pump.

there's a really nice big lake to play on your boat there, flatheads tops for fishing, I got my fingers crossed that your problem will remain non existent, ill be departing next Wednesday for 5 weeks of annual summer touring, I should be somewhere up there in 3 weeks.

MAN !

you have one THICK WALLET on the table. Either filled with Debt cards or you keep a book in there....

How in the world do you put that in your pocket ? That would kill my back if I tried that, and sat on it for any amount of time in the truck....

Oh yeah..... beautiful scenery...

Mine has gotten pretty thick with a few credit and debit cards, several licenses, multiple insurance and club discount cards, senior citizen's guvm't discount card, etc. Back got pretty bad till I started stuffing it into a front pocket.

My wallet has always been big. Don't know why but I can't seem to carry everything I need in anything smaller. I wear shorts most of the year, I switched to cargo shorts with pockets on the legs many years ago....wallet in one side, phone in the other.

Gorgeous scenery....Thank you for sharing!b
