Hey, Mark, don't mean to hack in to your awesome tread, and if it becomes any more of a problem after this question, I'll PM you.
Your comment on the possibility of a bad ground on my pyro, if that's the case, shouldn't all my Gage's act up, cause the grounds are all tied together, and attached to the engine by the firewall, and I have upgraded my grounds by adding additional ones, like Jim Layne did from engine to battery, and additional ones from battery to body.
Do you happen to know the life span of a pyrometers probe? I'm thinking/hoping that may be the issue.
What I'm going to do is call Autometer and pick their brain as well, and price out a new probe. I know it's called something other than a "probe", but can't think of it right now.

with the separate grounds One could have a bad connection and not effect the others.
another thing is there may be a bad connection in the light socket. I am thinking the light is trying to ground through the gauge body and causing interference. I would clean all the connections to that gauge including where the light socket contacts the gauge body and see what happens.

That sounds like a possibility. Thanks, will look into that, as I'm bored as heck sitting around for 7 months!

Nice spring morning so I figured I would see how much carnage I could do to my spare headlight buckets.
First I found a washer the size I wanted 2.75. I figured that would be the perfect size for a guide for the plasma cutter to open up the holes in the buckets. I ended up clamping the washer to the half hole then cut it out.
It worked better than I thought it would I didn't have too much clean up with a 2" drum sander on an electric drill motor. After that a little paint stripper and now soaking in Phosphoric acid to etch and get rid of the rust.

For clearance for the Bosch e-code headlight conversion. The light is brighter and better controlled than standard sealed beams. The bulbs are changed through the back.

I don't see as well with the color of the LEDs and they are still pretty expensive.
