I am looking into this now John...I don't like it either

Technically it is clearly an advertisement and as such separate from the website and forum content...the fact that it is placed in every thread it is clearly offensive and makes me want to avoid even thinking about purchasing a Ford vehicle EVER.

I've been here a long time and if the new ownership is going to allow those types of advertisements, I can't see this site lasting much longer as a Cummins only resource. Over the last few months I have seen the traffic slow to a crawl here where other sites have more up to date information on whats happening around the Cummins world. So either those members have left and feel more comfortable on the other sites, or they are also just offended with these types of advertisements.

I think both... and when you mention lasting as a Cummins only resource. To be honest with you, I don't see it lasting at all. The traffic has dropped from 1200 posts per day to about 200 if you're lucky. The other sites have kept up to date and have a following that has left here either because they god mad about something or because of so many problems with the site.

It's funny to me how we kept this thing going for over 10 years on two servers that we barely had to maintain and yet when it's moved to the supposedly redundant super servers, the site isn't worth a crap in terms of speed or reliability anymore. In the 10 years I had it, it crashed once and was down for 1 single day in over 4000 days.

I was kinda wondering what was up with the site, both the quietness and those Ford ads. I appreciate the honesty. This is the site that I found during my college years (when I should've been doing homework) and gave me all the bad ideas on how to spend the money I didn't have. I took a hiatus from the diesel world for about 5 years or so, and when I came back recently I was surprised how quiet it is on here. This was always the go-to site, if anything it's the ultimate compliment to know you guys were the reason it was what it was. It may be a blessing in disguise for you and Lary to ease up some burden, but the many years you two provided (as well as others!) were much appreciated and I want to thank you guys for that....my old bank account wouldn't agree though It was fun to come back and see the old usernames and see who's still around. I will say my favorite post was if the airplane would fly on the conveyor belt runway hahah that created quite the stir on here as well as my work at the time (an airplane manufacturer)...it was quite the heated debate in the office. The forum grew to more than just a technical resource...it was a fun place to come and chat about anything in life.

Thanks again and if things happen, just know you guys put on a great show for 10 years for all of us!!
