yeah, once that blade picks up there is little use for the back tires. That was a 10 ft blade and while it was heavy the angle on the truck is mostly due to the rusted out cab mounts. The front of the cab is on the frame and there is a 2x4 under the back of the bed to match the angle of the body lines. I guess it was easier to hide the drooping cab than actually fix it, just like the expanding foam that they used to fill the holes in the rockers

We put the big blade on there just to move it, it was used on a 1456 International tractor. Of course we had to try it out and since there wasn't any snow in the yard we took it out in the field. She moved the snow alright but when the blade broke through and ripped up the frozen ground there was no stopping, with fresh dirt for traction we were pushing everything as far as we wanted to go. Then we sheared the bolt that held the blade at an angle and decided that was enough.

Now I have the truck down at my workplace with a a regular 8 ft blade on it and of course we havent had much for snow now that we don't have to pay to have it removed, funny how that works. Last year I had to rush to the shop to get the plow out before the snow melted, I even went in at night time just to plow before the sun melted it in the morning. Hopefully this year we will get some heavy wet snow to see what it will do.


Hmmm... maybe I should see about bringing that 10 footer down just for fun.

finally, some snow to move! It was all light powder but at least there was plenty, about 20" though most of it drifted around. Here are some photos.

the uneven torque of an angled straight blade can't be good for our frames

I would fully box the frame before I would try that. These frames crack like crazy just from the force of the power steering pump!

It has been called everything from, the napa truck, a hot wheels truck to a st.louis ram fan truck. If i had $6,000 i would have a boss v on it. And if i had hair and a waist line, oh never mind.-

THe reason I went to the reverse rotation steering box was to prevent cracking mounting plates. So far, so good.

Does it count as a plow truck if the plow has been pulled off along with the winter tires?

You CWazy Matt Wabbit, you ! It counts as a plow truck, yes, but I think the idea of the thread was to see the trucks with the plow on and in action.... or sitting in a dunkin donuts parking lot like mine was....

Im running an 8.5' Western Unimount MVP (v-Plow) with a couple modifications because I cant leave anything alone.

Last winter...The truck wasn't looking so great haha but it makes a hell of a pile.



And this is how its sitting now. The plow is currently at the sand blaster in preparation for a full refurb...

Truck is sitting on a 5" bds lift with 35" Fuel tires.

She's my baby <3

Just need some paint and body work...and to finish my plow before we get another October storm!

NJTman... Did you refurb your plow yourself? Paint or powder coat? Cost? If you don't mind me asking?

Wow.... Sweet ride you got there....

I just bought a new blade for it. They sell the entire blade, with cutting edge, separately at the local western dealer.

My blade was rusted to the cutting edge, and bent up, as the P.o. from the truck it came from must have hit a manhole dead on. Didn't do any damage to the carriage / truckside, but damaged the blade. I simply replaced it with a new 3 spring unit and it bolted right on. In the process, I replaced all the carriage bolts, rebuilt the pump myself, and installed all new electrics except for the wiring harness from the pump to the joystick. Even bought a new joystick as a backup. Works great, as I really like the unimounts, although at some point, I want the Boss V to make life a little easier controlling it.
