exhaust is going to get me a ticket

Okay I live at work(aprtment complex) In Kansas city. I can hear my truck start anywhere on the complex. Its loud. I don't drive my truck much and when I do its almost all city. And the recent mods have me wanting to missbehave but, this thing leaves a smoke trail and can be heard from 1000 ft away. It can seriously hurt your ears riding the passenger seat through a tunnel, etc. I going to have to muffle it.

I thought about a single 3-4" stack painted. Or some type of 3-4" muffler. Would the stack out the top give me enough volume reduction to keep me out of trouble or should I just muffler it.

Who has the best horsepower vs price muffler? At this point I'm looking to alliviate the ear splitting growl that I get from bridge railings and buildings.

Be careful what muffler you buy. Mine plugged up already and sounds like a straightpipe. Sometimes a turndown tip takes the edge off too. I noticed a difference between my slash tip and the turn down. The turn down is quieter.

A turn down sounds like a good idea. I just don't want to hurt someones ears.

I put a turn down pipe on and I use a Areo muffler. The muffler was $186.00 but it works like an evacuator. I have seen a drop of my EGT to about 50* lower form a stright pipe. It still sounds good too.

If you're wanting to Shut It Up completely, consider The BHM (Big Honkin Muffler)

I have a walker dynomax muffler, full 4" in and out. $73 from Jegs, It has been on for 2 years and works good. It is a straight through type muffler, like a glass pack but much better quality. part number 289-17225.
Oh and by the way, stacks will hurt your ear drums too Good luck

a smoke trail you can hear?????? Thats some noisy smoke?? I ran straight pipe for years, now I went with a Bully Dog 4 inch with a muffler, still sounds good and its a straight through design.
