That's a hazard of linking to stuff on other sites. Looks like the group who posted it is no longer a part of the site it was hosted on.

All he did was make his screw longer by adding about 1/8" to the end by welding a small bead on the end. He then rounded it off and made it smooth like the original. I he also said he had one end in a small cup of water as a heat sink.

I believe that cummins makes a longer fuel screw without a collar for <$10 I'm told. I heard this on a separate thread, so someone might have a part number for it. I'll need one in my 93 as well.

Fast59, are your threads all good from removing the collar? I don't know if there is a shoulder that bottoms out or something. When they lengthen it, it's just on the tip. I haven't looked at a power screw in a year or two, I've forgotten exactly what it looks like in every detail.

John, you don't happen to have a part number on that do you? I need to order one.

well i have not pulled it out yet but the jam nut can spin off the end of the screw so i dont think threads are the problem it just feels like it hit bottom and just to add i was the one that removed the lock collar and originally only gave it about a half turn.

mine is TIGHT as a spring chicken ;-) I think the combination of pressure and years of being in the same spot might have something to do with it.

DO NOT CRANK ON IT !!!!!!!!! If you pull it out you will see that there is a spot in the middle of the screw that is not threaded. The threads do not go continuously from end to end. I had the same exact issue I had to lengthen the rod 3/16" or so with weld. Then I found the runaway!!!
