97 3500 qc 4wd 5 speed
Last night I found a 97 3500 QC 4wd 5 speed locally. It looks exactly like what I'm looking for but the guy wants $12900!!! These trucks just aren't worth that are they? It has 153,000 miles and is in good condition not great. What is wrong with some of these owners? I'm thinking $9000 is the most I would pay for sure for this truck.
The pre 98's have a rear seat but no rear doors. In order to get into the back seat you have to lean the front seats forward to crawl into the back. So technically its an extended cab not a quad cab, but it serves the same purpose.
Yes the mileage is fairly low. When i bought my 97' it had 220,### on the ticker.
I agree the price is to steep. I gave $7,600 for mine but its single cab 2500, so i would say 9k-10k is reasonable.

I'm still learning about these trucks, I didn't know the 97s didn't have the door that opened to the back seat. Oh well, I still will buy it if it's in gg=ood shape and he come off that asking price.
Tn, did you look at that second 98 QC 12v dually on the other thread?
The guy who has it is a no-bs kinda guy, if I needed a dually I wouldn't hesitate to talk to him.
Plus, it is in your price range. It is modified though, that may be a downer for you.

I can tell you why these trucks are selling so high. No one wants the Chevy 6.5 and the Powerstroke didnt hold up nearly well as the CTD. Most PSd needs some pricey repairs in 100k range. That E4OD will blow at 100k just like 47RE so thats a wash. But there Turbos dont last as long and seem to be having water pump issues around 100k also. But the real kick in the Azz is the oil pan rotting out. Its about 28 hours labor and will cost about 1200 to have it fixed. And the other reason is most of the Fords out there were work trucks. The blue collar guys stuck by there blue oval trucks so most of the Fords are beat. And even if there not they have Oil pan rot issue. So the Dodges you find are cleaner and not abused as much. But what some people think they are worth
