Cummins needs to step it up soon!

Rumor for this year is the new powerstroke will be putting out 400 HP and 700ft and the duramax is going to increase to 390 HP and 700 ft. I hope cummins does something soon after.

Ya but when they're broken down on the side of the road the mighty Cummins will just keep chugging along.

yep you can have all the power. but when all i does is break it don't matter. I wish they would get off this more power kick. and worry about getting the mpg up.

You get to a point where you have enough power to pull any legal weight at any legal speed up almost any hill.

After that, you don't need anymore for towing. MPG and reliability should matter more then.

Yeah but Chevy will still suck to drive and ride shotgun, and Fords new engine could have as many problems as the International.

The next thing we will see is a Scorpian stinging a Dodge in a Ford Commercial. If they really wanted to sting Dodge, all they had to do is install
an in line 6 in the 2010 truck and called it anything they wanted to.

I love the F450 as a tow vehicle but would never go that way as long as there's a V-8 in there.

I'd prefer MPG and reliability

My 04 gets over 21 mpg on the hwy, and I can tow my 5000 lb trailer and get 15.5 mpg. My buddy with his current version Ford can't even get 15 mpg on the hwy and not towing. The Ford sucks fuel.

My boss has an 02 CTD with intake and an edge juise with attitude and we both pulled the same elite trailers 25' goose neck flatbed him getting 9mpg with his slightly modded truck, and with my bone stock 6.7L i was getting 11mpg. After loading the trailer to over 17k with an oil field skid mounted building (i.e. basically a wind sock) i got 7mpg from Columbus Ohio to Charleston, WV. Not bad for a stock truck. My 99' 7.3L would get over 23mpg on the highway with 500ppm fuel but dropped to under 20 with ULSD. Pulling a 8k enclosed would get 11mpg. It is a shame that by cleaning up the emissions by reducing sulfur content we end up using more fuel due to worse MPG seams like we are using more crude oil so we must be having a larger impact on the envirnment instead of a smaller one. Bassackward in my book. Like previously stated it gets to a point where HP doesnt matter if you dont get squat for MPG.

They could knock power back just a tad with the new trans get some extra mileage and still have enough power to everything your truck can carry. Safely that is.

I would pay extra to have a low HP/high MPG option, say 275 HP 500 TQ. This along with the awsome 6 speed Auto would pull any load up to 20K lbs any where in the eastern USA.

It wasn't too long ago I had an 03. it's 305 hp was plenty to pull all the overloaded loads I pulled. The tires were about to blow several times but it would pull. If you really need 500 hp to pull what you're pulling than you need a semi.

I had a 2000 with a 215 hp motor and that thing would pull 13k well. Now I have 350 hp and it pulls it better, but for pulling legal weights, how much more do you need?

Give me the option to change my power level from the factory on the fly. Lower power for the highway running empty and up the ponies to tow...

I agree with you there. I love the power of my truck, but I hate the mileage. My 6.7 is getting about 13-14. I remember my old 24v getting 18 to 20. Man I miss those days...
