Rain in Phoenix

Imagine the most humid place on earth, then double it, then triple it, well you get the idea, it's really humid. Wow 1970, it must have been a pretty small town, it has nearly a million now. I wish that I had come here then because there are more beautiful women per square mile than anywhere I have ever been. It's because there are like 23 different colleges and universities here and they come from all over Mexico...Mark

Stupid hurricanes
Well ol' hurricane Norbert did a number in Phoenix, but pretty much left me alone here in Kino, not so much with hurricane Odile. They just issued a red alert here and we are getting the leading edge. The storm surge came up over the berm on the beach and flooded out the streets near the beach. They are stacking sand bags all up and down the streets, which may be a bit futile. The pics don't look too bad, but there are normally no waves at all in the bay. The worst should be later today and tomorrow. I expect the power to go out any time now. I don't know how you people live with this threat every year, you must be nutz ...Mark

I've been through many a hurricane and tropical storm, they don't bother me much unless it's a direct hit. We get monsoon type rains in the summer but they are short lived. I guess you just get used to it, but I don't want to live anywhere else. I love it here.

Yeah Steve, I guess that you get used to them like I got used to 115 degrees. I say the same, I love Phoenix and would not live anywhere else. I put a black ex where my original house is here in Kino and we are probably going to escape a direct hit. It will be a big rain event though...Mark

We drove down through Nogales and I remember a two lane road all the way without a medium. There must have been passing lanes but I can't remember. Saw horrible accidents. We went at Easter time and Mazatlan was fairly zoo'd out with students and indeed pretty American and Mexican women. We drove down to Matanchen Bay and scored on no seeum's but alas no waves. About every 2-300 miles would be a young kid with a M-16 at a roadblock. $2.00 mordida tip got us on our way without unloading the car.

I've got a lot on the beach 180 miles south in the Colonet area,Baja Norte. I think it's plenty safe now, just the God awful northbound crossing at San Ysidro,Otay amd tecate is brutal. Even the sentry lane in SY can approach 50 minutes. The US needs to employ face recognition, thumbprints or iris scan to speed things up.
