Superbird and Daytona fans take a look at this!
Made me drool! My first car love as a pre-teen was with a Superbird we passed on the highway one day. We were on our way back from shopping in Steubenville and a sublime green Superbird passed us going the other way on SR43 near Richmond. The whole car vibrated as it cruised by, the rumble was amazing! I've always wanted a bird but I have yet to hit the lottery or strike gold so it'll probably never be, but a guy can still dream. I ran across this video and then found the web site. If you're a fan, you'll enjoy what's included below.
And the folks who build it.

I was pumping gas and the station manager's friend had a Superbird. 440 6pack 4 speed. He took me for a ride. All I can say is wow. at about 120 the car literally sinks from the nose and wing.

Just makes me glad that Plymouth is gone so they can't "resurect" the 'Cuda.
Neat concept,.... but I'm not a fan of a pretender to the throne "SuperBird".

Blasphemy! Calling a Superbird a 6 pak. At least thats what I was told...or rather scolded about when I owned one and described it that way...wow did i kick a Hornets nest saying 6 pak. The passion of the Superbird owners was/is intense. I called it a six barrel whenever I was around that group.
Hemi 4 spd super track pak Six barrel in Petty Blue...awesome car!
I'll never forget how I got schooled on just that one thing...it was crazy.

It looks too much like a "Tuner Car" Rice-burner.
And Scotty, I had a '70 440 6-pack 'Cuda in the late 70s.......literally passed EVERTHING except a gas station.

Nice! My Bird turned some heads and it was fast! When I bought the car out in Quebec I drove it all the way back to Saskatchewan. Glug glug glug...thirsty is an understatement. Made a wrong turn in Thunder Bay Ontario...on purpose. I wanted to take a picture of the car on the tarmac of a base near there. I got as far as the open gates and then several vehicles wearing CANADA plates showed up. Whoops. I had some explaining to do but the Bird bought me a free ride out of there with very little hassle.

Good stuff.
When I was stationed at BAMC (Texas) I picked up a 69 Dodge Polara at a state auction.
It had the interceptor manifold.
Gas was .38 cents a gallon and I still couldnt afford to drive it.

Can't remember if it was a Superbird or Daytona that is in the museum at Talledega that one of the MOPAR rags drove, but it pulled hard to the left, but straightened out at speed, the museum people told him about 155-160 is where it quit pulling. Writer said he couldn't verify the speed, no speedometer.

Also the nose/grille opening is a little different (smaller) on the dodge between the two. For 1970 the superbird production was 1920 to comply with an updated nascar mandate to make it legal to compete after they saw how fast the 69 daytona's were. Prior it had been 500 and they upped it to a 1500 minimum.
Dodge in 1969 also offered the charger 500 with a flush fitting back window and the front grille moved flat/flush up front for a better air flow over the car. The daytona did not come out until April of 69 and was 20 percent slicker in the air and dodge won 22 times that year, had it been at the 1st could have been 30+. All tri carb dodge's are called sixpack cars and the plymouth''s were called six barrel or 440+6.

I agree with Ed (please don't tell him) I think the lines are ugly on that new car while the original still gives me goose bumps....Some things are best NOT new and improved...
