need transmission help

i am putting a detroit 471 2 stroke diesel in a rat rod and need an automatic trans to bolt on it. is there a trans that i can get from a wreckers cheap that fits it? any info will help thanks.

There's nothing in small automotive autos that will bolt up to a 471

i did not think small automotive would have anything but i live close to a truck wreckers and would like an idea of what i should be looking for vehicle wise. thanks for your help.

You could look for a older truck that had a 671 with a Allison a GMC Brigadier? a international ??????????? just walk around the junk yard

Looks like most are SAE, not sure, looks like they had both SAE2 and SAE3 patterns available, and also looks like there was a GM V8 pattern used on some boats? Must be a bolt on adapter like the Cummins.

Allison AT545 would be the cheapest.

Marine sometimes is odd but most 471 where used as gen sets and others in boom boats.
