http://dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/filter/97fuel_filter.htm

Lots of other good maintenenace info on that site as well.

I don't think I have a torque wrench, is it that important to torque it exactly to spec? Thanks again

mike

Re:How do you change fuel filter?

A torque wrench isn't needed, just remember it's sealing with an oring so you don't have to get it King Kong tight. Just snug the nut up and after you restart the truck check for leaks.

Oh yea, if your's is a bear to start back up like mine a couple quick shots of WD-40 in the air intake will get her firing right up. Have someone turn over the truck while you spray the WD-40. Don't worry the truck won't explode as some people seem to believe. :

DB

Re:How do you change fuel filter?

Hey Mike, new info suggests that you may be at risk of KDP failure. If you would like to contain the problem, and change your fuel filter, come on over the mountains to the west side this Sat. and we'll give you a hand in fixing the above items.

Around here, KDP fix is a no-cost item.

I am jig caretaker for the Pacific Northwest.
The jig is shipped around the area to those who need it at no charge. I organize this particular area. There are many others across the country.

We host get-togethers on a semi-not-so-regular basis, (whenever we feel like it), and do many things. KDP fixes are always popular. It's nice for most folks to know they have experienced help, and all tools necessary, to get this done.

We plan another event about mid-April. If you'd like to send me your name, address, and phone #, at the e-mail addy below, I will put you on the list.
That goes for anyone else in the Washington State area.

koselinc@msn.com - PNW KDP Jig Caretaker

Re:How do you change fuel filter?

I bought it at the cummins dealer. $7 for the oil filter, and $14 for the fuel filter.
