bypass fuel heater

can anyone help me bypass fuel heater on a 98 12valve its leaking air and confused on how to do it pics would be nice hahahaha or however just need some help cant go anywhere and its friday

Picture should explain it all, just remove the heater section, shorten the inner shaft and put it back together.

sorry

i really need to take that part completly out of the pic i think the fuel heater is letting air into my fuel any other ideas???

Remove the prefilter bowl. I think it is a 15 mm socket. Disconnect the wires. Then take the heater assy out using an allen head wrench. The filter bowl will then screw into the hole that held the allen head bolt. You will get a cupfull or so out of the prefilter so be careful of that when you remove it.

I use two socket extensions and a swivel joint when removing the bowl.
Otherwise it's a diesel bath.
