2006 Bypass (?) Heater Hoses
2006 Bypass (?) Heater Hoses
Earlier this year I replaced all of my hoses, but missed these two. I think they're called bypass hoses:

Nobody has these, and I'd be tempted to put them back as they seem to be in good shape, but I cut the rear one to get it out, so I'm committed. Neither O'Reilly nor AutoZone have these and it's too late on Sunday for NAPA. They don't even have 7/8" bulk heater hose, so I'm hoping I'm not out of luck. Are these available anywhere?
Thanks,
Tad

The short red foil covered hose is a coolant line. This line commonly leaks on the 06 and and early 07 model year trucks. If it is low on coolant you can find Zerex G0-5 HOAT coolant at Napa.
The best bet is to replace the hose with the following parts noted below. I have included the Dodge part numbers and the Cummins part numbers if you have a dealer nearby. The new hose has a smaller inside diameter than the old hose with the foil jacket. They are available only at a Dodge dealer or Cummins dealer since the inside diameter is of a unique size. The updated clamps are spring loaded to apply constant pressure under hot and cold conditions.
Dodge Hose - 05179114AB
Dodge Clamps - 05179115AA (2 needed)
Cummins Hose - 4939438
Cummins Clamps - 4930327 (2 needed

Thanks! Actually, they're both off of the same pipe. The blue one is on the front end of the coolant pipe that runs along the side of the engine under the exhaust manifold. I expect (hope?) Dodge has that one too...?
