wrong thermostat?
wrong thermostat?
flushed my coolant sytem tonight, went to change the thermostat, and the one they gave me looks nothing like what I took out of mine, which is still the factory original. I bought it from a local diesel shop which looks like they apparently bought it from the local dodge dealer cause its in a cummins box with a mopar sticker on it. My old one has a big spring on the bottom side of it that goes in the head, the new one has a huge, thick o-ring or rubber band around the body of it that goes in the head. I don't know if this is just a newer style or if he gave me one for a 12v. Problem is, I'm doing this at work, and I can't leave the truck sit over night. the part # on the mopar label is 05015708AC. I'd just put the old one back in, but the rubber seal in the center of it is cracked up pretty bad. thanks
sounds like my last ordeal, i like the new thermostat though, while towing the engine temps stay WAY lower, but in normal driving they are right where they are supposed to be. guess maybe its something new they did to it, im not sure?
btw: im taking about the truck my dad uses at his busniess, 02
