Whos Running Nitrous

ive done some searching around on other threads but i also wanted some first hand experience here. who is running nitrous on there 1st gen were did you guys put the injector and what about the timing are you guys retarding it at all?

i recently bought a nitrous kit for my 18 ft jet


and my nieghbor has a hook up at zex and got me a killer deal on the kit for the boat, so i was talking to him about the diesel kit and after lookin at it all ill need is another solenoid and injector jets and some steel braided line so he got me all that for $75 and ill just swap the bottle back and forth since i wont be using them at the same time

I run nitrous on my first gen. Its nothing like running nitrous in a car. You can run as much as you want until you either lose power or the truck shuts off. Then back off on your jets. As far as i understand there is really no way to hurt a diesel engine with nitrous unless you are running a 200 shot and using it all. Other than that nitrous cools off a diesel engine unlike a gas engine where it heats it up.

I put the nitrous nozzles on the intake horn.

And my timing is very advanced and I havent had a problem.

If your not blowing black smoke at WOT there is really no sense is using the nitrous though as you wont be able to get much out of it. It will just be more for looks then.

when i had my 18.5 cm exhaust housing it it would smoke black all the way through the gears with a 14 it was still kinda black and now with the 12 it just hazes, i will be ordering some bigger injectors so i will need it to clear them up a little

I'm going to spray a bit....a .050 jet and then try a .070 jet. Timing is stock cause I am worried about the head gasket...I think 400-500hp is realistic on a first gen with a maxed pump, injectors and spray. Just make sure you hit the bottle above 15-20psi of boost or else it could backfire.
