ok i finally installed my pyro gauge and then pulled a 8 x 10 trailer with my new 525 outlaw 300 miles and never got to 1100 deg smarty set on 9 and tq on 4 then everything else on stock then i got home unhooked the trailer and it sat awhile then i drove it around town a little bit and had about 1000 for low then figured i would get on the highway and it still didnt drop it went up whats the deal i didnt change any thing and the ambiant temp didnt either
whats going on? i know that aint towing much but you would think it wouldnt be cooler

 

where did you install the pyro,

 

exhaust manifold and last night i tuned the smarty down to sw 5 and its still running hotter than when i had a trailer

 

try another probe, and another unit that mearsure's your egt's, like edge, or pmt, ect.

 

whats a stock truck like mine suppose to be running without the smarty
around town im seeing 850 to 1000 does that sound right

 

I can see 1K no problem around town if I keep the rpm's down... 1500* can run just as hot as WOT becuase there isn't any cooling air from the turbo..

Stock on a small grade 1500 rpms 10psi boost 1K degrees.. Smarty Jr on SW1 (timing only) same grade 1500 rpms, 8 psi boost 950*...
