water leaking inside
water leaking inside
I have a water leak under the carpet, or rubber flooring on the passenger side. Only when I wash it or it rains. I am not sure were it could be comming from. Any suggestions?
Re:water leaking inside
Third brake light on the cab has a bad habit of leaking like that. Also the rear window can as well. Ac can plug up and dump there as well.
On mine it was the brake light, loosen the two screws and pull it off, there is foam wrapped around the light plug, it was soaking wet.

Yes, if not the brake light then most likely the drain for the a/c. The a/c drain does not have a tube on it, so the wind from driving forces it back down in between the floor boards and the carpet. Hook up a hose to the drain (located from the engine compartement).
Also water can leak from around the a/c condensor firewall gasket. Where the tubes pass through the firewall and into the cab the foam gasket can leak. Same thing for the heater core. Cheap gaskets. Use some type of sealer like "rope caulk". It stays soft and can be removed without any hassle later if you need to. It's like play dough or silly putty, comes in a role, can get it at most hardware stores. Easy to work with. Just have to clean the area prior to "packing" the stuff in the gaps. Also put some around the a/c drain and attatch a tube to the a/c drain or "snout".
If that does not fix your leak, then the next spot I would check is a little more involved. The black plastic cowl under your windshield wipers (were the wiper motor is located), needs to be removed, and you need to play detective and look closely the there. I believe the area around the passenger side has a joint that was not sealed properly from the factory. Seal up any suspicious joints. Look closely for areas where H20 can puddle, especially at a joint.
BTW, make sure the a/c drain is clear of debris as well. Hope this helps, Kevin

Check the Cowl drains at the bottom of the fenders.... If they clog up then water will build up in the cowl area and it has to go somewhere....Usually in the floorboard.
The test for this is flow water in the cowl area and look to see if it is pouring out behind the front tires. It is a simple system Dodge uses.....Water in Water out if water goes in the cowl area and can't come out then it will build up and end up somewhere it is not supposed to.
