Angry Warrany Cancelled

Went to dealer to have a leak fixed. Dealer called and said the CP3 was leaking and he is going to order one. Picked truck up and service manager said he would call when it came in. Two days later he said he had bad news. He then told me the warranty was cancelled by the district manager. I then ask why he cancelled it and he said district manager called him (service manager) and ask if I had a box on my truck, they said yes and he said my warranty on motor and drive train is now CANCELLED!! The dealer did not test anything, not even the lift pump! I bought the ext. warranty and the truck only has 29,000 miles. What can I do?

If you had a box on it I'd say they made the right choice.

Sorry man, if you're gonna play, you get to pay.

Always take your aftermarket fueling devices off of your truck when in for service work. There is still a small chance that they can fall back and look at the history of the truck being driven by hooking up to the ECM, however, most wont go that far. Out of site out of mind.

There is not much you can do in this case. You will have a hard time getting them to bite on this one and give you your warranty back.

Unfortunately, You play you pay!

you might be able to get some of the money back on your extended warranty. Hopefully you kept that paperwork. I believe that there is a pro rated type of reimbursement on it. Try to look into it maybe you can recoup some money to pay for the cp3. Good luck. I'll try to dig up my info since I just bought one. Did you get the d/c one or some other? By the way how did you like the banks bundle, I did not put mine on yet.

At the start of this month I was informed that the dealers in Canada have a mandate to not get charged back for parts after DC looks at them.
At least that is the common talk at a couple of the dealers I know.
They might start checking closer and I was informed that my truck would have a problem getting a CP3 past for warranty as the DSM has seen the truck and shook his head. I guess I was presumed guilty at that point.

Cancel your extended warranty and get a modified CP3...I think you can get a good credit for your CP3 if you trade it too. They might even rebuild the one you send. Look at it as an opportunity.

Yep, that's right Scotty. That's why I'm not hooking one up on mine. It's got plenty of guts for my needs. The strange thing is, some parts departments at dealers actually sell them, and others have told people I know that they don't care, but take it off when you come in, because the DSM comes around sometimes, and starts "popping up hoods". I have enough of a frustrating time trying to get my local dealer to do anything when I need warranty stuff, they have such a poor service department. I have to go an hour from where I live to a dealer that has descent mechanics! (If I had a box on mine, the local dealer would be beaming, because they'd have the final excuse!)

Well you could contest it if you feel the cancellation was unwarranted (pun ). The District Manager did not see the vehicle first hand did he? If not, he is going by heresay and has no real proof in hand at this point that you have it modded or that any "purported mods" actually caused the failure of the faulty part in question since no repairs were actually perfomed on the truck. Based on various owners reports the CP3 can, and does, fail without any mods on a stock truck. Of course, you would probably have to hire an attorney and that would cost more than the warranty/repair is worth.

The other thing you could do is fix it and trade it in on an '06 (keep it stock & unmodded) with new warranty. You would do that at another dealer of course as you certainly don't want to reward the dealer, who tattled on you, by giving them any more business!

Other than that, you will just have to bite the bullet and live with the consequences and hope you never need your warranty in the future. Then you are free to bomb away without fear!

Tuff break!!!!!!!!!! They have to prove the box caused the problum that is the only way they can void the warranty, and that doesn't mean they void the whole truck. Thats the law!!! When someone says you play you pay well that is what the 6.0 guys say all the time.
Ask yourself this one question if you traded the truck for a new dodge at a different dealer I would bet they wouldn't check the warranty status on the truck they would just asume it did. And after the resale I bet that truck will have no problum getting warranty!!! Good luck keep us posted

It's been proven that the CP3 leaks is not cause by a performance box, many have leaks in stock form.
Contact Rich2500, he fixed his with some aftermarket o-ring seals. Cost around $20 and easy to do.

Tough Break. We Overlook Intances Like This At My Store. If The Truck Is Cobbed, Thats A Different Story. Ive Had Guys Come In With Holes In Their Intake Manifolds, Plugged With Tire Patches., Or Airboxes Completely Removed With Sandwashed Turbos. Thats A Different Story, But, We Do Infact , Overlook quality[u] Modifications.
Sounds Like The Service Mangaer Had A Personal Issue With You And Called His Dm. Otherwise, Dm Never Gets Involved. He Never Even Sees The Claim, Unless Its Brought To His Attention.

If You Can, Pm Me You Last 9 Of Vin. Id Like To See If He Brandished Your Vin Or If Someone Is Blowing Smoke Up Your Butt. Heck, If Its Not Brandished, Get The Truck To Me. Ill- Git-r-done.

MIKEY, YOUR EXACTLY CORRECT!. UNLESS THE DM CAN PROVE THAT THE MODIFICATION CAUSED THE FAILURE ON THE PUMP, HE CANNOT RESTRICT HIS VIN...ITS STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES AT DC.
WELL SAID

I bet he didn't void anything.

Probably didn't want to deal with the truck or couldn't get the part or some other bs.

Take it to a different dealer and have them run the vin and see what comes up.

Did you leave the box in the truck?

Hmmm, I think I just had my mind made up on weather or not I should get the extended warranty on the truck I'm getting.

While we're on the topic, what kinda mods do the cancel warranties on? Canging the air cleaner, removing the cat, muffler???

Sounds like I need to ask around for good Dodge service departments in my area...

If in fact the warranty is void and he trades it and does not disclose that.....well I don't think he would want to be on the receiving end of that lawsuit. If I purchased a truck used that was to have warranty and was traded that way and found out it didn't there would be hell to pay. And then to find out it had leaking fuel components that might have been caused by a tuner??
Next time get information before you put a tuner box on. Zero sympathy from me. You play you pay.
