warranty struggles
Even though there is a paragragh in my extended warranty that state if work is to be performed outside the dealership it must be authorized first, (I'll post the paragragh verbatim later.) the dealer tells me I can't have work done anywhere except the dealer. When I asked why, the only answer they could give me was "because the dealership is open." I don't know about anyone else but to me that a bunch of Does anyone know how I can get service authorized outside the dealership?

When I read my warranty closely, it sounded like the only kind of work that can be authorized is "emergency" for any emissions control component. And emergency was termed, "not fixable within 30 days".

If its a FACTORY Chrysler policy they will not put money in someones elses hands or support any one else but another Dodge store.I heard a Nissan rep give a women pure heck whom had a lady garage owner replace a alternator during normal business hours withen 10 miles of a Nissan dealer holding a factory extended service contract in her hand with a receipt. The Nissan Rep did tell her if it had been in the middle of nowhere on a weekend he had no issues with getting her reimburst for the repair. But that was not the case.So the answer was no.

I don't know that Chrysler actually has it's own extended warranties. I purchased a policy from Perkins Dodge in
Colorado Springs last year, and a few months ago I received a card in the mail stating "...your contract is now being serviced by Automotive Repair Specialties. You must contact them prior to any repair work for pre-authorization...".
As a side note: Has anyone else noticed that St. Petersburg Florida seems to be the hub for warranty businesses?

heck to took my truck back to them to have some warranty work done cause the retaining screw in the rail pressure limiting valve is visibly cracked. they said that there are no performance issues so they aren't going to replace it. i also have a tick in the CP3 and they said they can't hear it. but no performance issues so they aren't going to fix it. talk about BS dodge warranty isn't worth it.
