Valve body upgrade

I have fixed the T/C lock unlock problem by cleaning up the grounds and running the extra ground lead Works like a champ!
I would like to do a valve body upgrade. I can buy a BD valve body for (Can$) 549$ . I like to do things myself ( and save $ also), I have seen valve body upgrade parts for as cheap as 60$ (US). Can I do the same upgrades myself or is it wiser to buck up and install a full rebuild BD?
Thanks for any info.
Alan

It's better to install a full VB because that way you know the pressures are set right, the shift points are set right, and everything is assembled correctly. Call up Stefan at DTT. He built my VB and my tranny is holding a comp with 100+hp injectors on the stock TC.
