trouble doing IP advance

I am in the process of advancing the timing on my pump. I undid all 3 nuts from the housing, and the one on the lower back steel plate, but can get it to budge, it will retard a lil bit, but only comes back to the same place.

OK I got it. after moving it back and forth it finally gave that last little bit. repositioned the banjo fitting and truck fired right up, with a slight rattle at idle. everyone knows the sound...like when your walking right in front of the rad of a n14....I love it. Tomorrow all those guys are gonna here a difference in my 1st gen...oh yeah i hacked the muffler off too and piped out the side....next my 4", then guages, and then the pump...and then....boy this is fun.

timing

did you put a ratche strap on it like in my gallery pics that will hold it in place so you can tight it to right place the fuel lines give some resistance but ratchet strap works wonders

it also helps to have someone else to hold in place while you tighten it down

I think the fuel lines were the problem, but all is good now. Actually when I read daves post about you using the ratchet strap i went to grab one, and my father-in-law was holding it at 1/8"

It seems to run better now
