In-tank lift pump replacement...

I just wondered how long ( if any have failed ) the in tank lift pump conversion has held up for anyone. My truck is going in Monday for this conversion and wondered the life expectancy of this style pump. Mine has 90k on it now and it still works but I am changing it so I don't get stranded in the cold somewhere. Do these typically live longer than the filter mounted pump or are they about the same?

The in-tank lift pump is very reliable when factory installed. I have read of a few that had problems from dealer installation, Though they have been far and few inbetween. It seems not all mechanics are created equal.
