Stock boost readings-What should they be?

Just installed a set of Isspro guages on my 06 CTD (trans, pyro and boost). What should the boost be under hard accelerations? My guage will go up to 32-34 lbs then drop down quickly to 24-26 lbs which is what I think it should be. The 32-34 lbs seems kind of high, is this normal or what am I experiencing? The truck runs fine and performs fine. Any info will be appreciated.-Frog

The spike is about right maybe just a tad high which means it's fueling plenty good. Drops to 26 because there isn't enough load on the engine, you need to tow something uphill with foot on floor or close to it to sustain the 30 psi which the truck is rated at.

Altitude also plays a role in the amount of boost made. How do I know this? I live at 8400 ft. where I show about 29 max, and near sealevel, it more like 31 or 31 1/2. Ohh Yeah....and until I fixed it, everytime I came off the hill, I blew the little rubber hose off of the gauge!

It is my understanding that the 04.5 on up trucks, stock, will peak about 32-34psi but then fall back to about 28 psi sustained because of an electronic wastegate on the turbo. That is what my truck does too.
