Sloppy handling from the truck

Well I have a 2005 Dodge Ram CTD. I have a BDS standard 6" lift, and 37" Geolanders. I know it's a lifted truck and it's not going to handle like a sports car, but I guess I'm just looking for better.

When going over bumps, I can feel and hear the whole truck jump around and make thumping noises. Seems extremely stiff.

Also when turning the truck seems like it sways an extreme amount.

Don't know where to start. Any advice???

Hey thanks for the advice. I love the kit, don't get me wrong, just seemed to ride very very good the first few weeks, and kind of is sloppy now. As for installation I did it myself with a few friends, but nothing was installed wrong I know that for a fact. I have 15k miles on the lift already lol. I was thinking end links, or ***** joints? I'm not sure as to what can make it better. The tires I have run inflation at 60 psi.

Sounds like you are looking n the right direction. Like I said give either BDS or my buds a call and maybe they can help you out further.

When my handling started to get a little loose i found side to side play in the sector shaft on the steering gear. Bigger tires can really stress the steering gear. Added a steering stabilizer brace and new track bar and everything is tight again. Easy to check, just have someone turn the wheel while you look at the bottom of the steering gear and see if the pitman arm moves at all where it connects to sector shaft.

Well, to start with I dropped the tire pressures from 62 to 53psi. 50 is manufacturer standard which I found online today. Truck handles a lot better. When driving straight the truck seems to track from side to side a decent amount. Maybe ball joints????
