Seat cushions needed

I recently purchased a "new to me" 2006 Big Horn Edition, 3500 Dually, quad cab truck. The seats in it are not at all comfortable. I really like the truck but we will be traveling alot and be sitting in those sits from sunup to sunset. My 95 had more comfortable seats than this and I thought they were stiff. Has anyone found any cushion that will buffer the butt and back from excessive ware and tare. Thanks in advance. Ray

Here is one of many threads on "upgrading"/"repairing" the seats. Some folks have even gone as far as installing seats from a Chrysler 300 or Sebring.

I bought a couple of gel cushions from Canadian tire, they are better than having nothing, and can just be taken out to clean, and I guess nobody was buying them as they were on sale for $9 bucks each they usually sell for over $30.

My '03 was killing me after about 1-1/2 hours of driving. My right leg felt like it was going to sleep & aching so much I had to stop, fall out of the truck & walk it out. Then, back in for another 1-1/2 hours.

The seat foam collapses & you end up riding on the wire (ladder) framework.

I went to an upholstery shop warehouse in Tempe, AZ. & talked to the owner who checked out my seat & said that he had just what I needed (carpet sample & 1/2" CLOSED-CELL foam). The C-C foam is very dense, like what wrestling mats are made of but, not as thick.

I took the seat apart, installed the carpet sample (gives a solid platform over the ladder so that the foam does not wrap around the wires) & the C-C foam & then put the seat back together.

I did this a number of years ago & have never had the problem, again. I firmly believe that THIS is the secret!!! It worked very well, for me. I've driven all day long without any problems, at all.

The c-c foam does not create a huge bulge in the seat like thicker open cell foam.

I don't know why the engineers at Dodge couldn't figure this one out. They must have gotten their engineering degrees in a Cracker Jack box!!!

Try this, as I feel that the product will meet your criterion.

I spent $75 and had an upholstry shop re-cushion the stock seat. It was the best $75 I have spent in a while.
