Running B100 Bio in a common rail??

I was sifting through the biodiesel threads and someone mentioned that anything past B10 in a 3rd. Gen is just asking for trouble. Anyone know anything about this??

I am in the middle of making a bio processor and I have a 2005 CTD and planned on going straight b100 inthe summer months...

I've been making homebrewed biodiesel B100 for about a year and a half now. I run it in my new 07 5.9 Cummins, an 01 VW Golf TDI, and a 02 VW Jetta TDI. I also ran in in a 2001 Ford F-350 7.3 Powerstroke that I just sold. They all run great on biodiesel. The most important thing about making your own is QUALITY. You need to make sure that you wash, dry, and filter your biodiesel very well before using it.

Spend a few minutes going back through the pages and look at some of the older threads - lots of good info.

I've run up to B60 or so on occasion, but usually run around B30'ish - no problems yet. I'm not talking here about the homemade stuff here, but rather the bio you purchase at the fuel station. I don't run it in the winter time due to gelling concerns. As a matter of fact I'm heading out in a few to go pick up some B100.

It all depends on the quality and oil feed stock on what percentage BD you can run in a common rail.
Since you most often don't know these factors you take a chance running anything over B50 in a CRI engine.
