Biodiesel is always more expensive around Portland that diesel, they raised the raise as diesel prices went up, always at least 50 cents a gallon to $1.00 premium to diesel

Here its just crazy.... 72 cents a litre for diesel....I wouldn't pay $2.00 a litre for bio.....I guess because I process my own,I know the cost.Yes...I know there is a overhead for the crusher and labour, but two dollors a litre....Thats why there saleman push it as a mircle fuel...give me break....Its a alternative fuel....Ok....Of my soap box...

There's a local joint around here I called last year and they were cutting back production for some reason, oh, I remember it's because soy bean prices were going through the roof and it was not cost effective to make the bio. I'll have to get on the phone again and see what they are charging for the stuff now.

We haven't checked in a 1 1/2 yrs. , this was in the middle of the scam of the oil companies buying up all they could get & shipping overseas and collecting the blenders credit .
At the time it was about $5.45 gal. , pump #2 was about $3.25 .
The last time we [ a friend bought in bulk delivered ] bought in bulk at about $1.85 gal. , #2 was about $2.15 gal.
Have been getting set up to make , ever since , have collected about 600 gals. of WVO so far , with regular sources , for free , except the cost of picking up .

Talk about being married to it... My calculations have you making 800 five-gallon batches in 1460 days; is that accurate? You're making an average of 4 batches a week?

Fer cryin' out loud, at least make a little more space on your workbench and step up and make a 15-gallon processor. Well, at least you're doing something.

I've got a home crafted 100-gal processor and I can't tell you the number of people who get all gung-ho and swear they're going to build one, too. Out of the many dozens of lookie-lou's, ONE guy built his own (did a great job, too- I'm sick with jealousy).

Congrats on being one of the ones who "do it" instead of just talking about it!

I make 20 gallons at a time..One 5 gallon processor, once done my mixing I would dump it into another gallon pail to settle and start another batch.I wish my garage was bigger for something larger..The processing is not bad for time....My 4000 gallons calulation is the amount of bags of lye I used at 98 grams per 5 gallons...The washing is where the time goes..

$1.70 right now here in San Antonio, Texas, about 30 to 40 cents cheaper than local ULSD prices
