Raced the Truck
Raced the Truck
Hey everyone, I just got back from my trip to Sanair. I took my truck over to street night and couldnt resist running even with my worn out clutch. I only made two passes and there were no ET's being displayed, but I have an idea of how it did. I ran my FMS at 45% and my propane on. Then when I would go into 4th, I switched off propane and babied the throttle to keep the clutch from slipping as much as I could. The first run was against a 93 Trans Am. I got him off the line, and stayed in front the whole 1/4 mile. I beat him by quite a few truck lengths. The second car was a Civic with a turbo, slicks and a bunch of other stuff. The car was running 14.4 in the 1/4 the weekend before. I was right beside him off the line which suprised me because of his slicks. Once I shifted into 3rd it was all over, It was like he was tied to a tree and the rope fetched up, I went by him with no problems. I finished the run about 4 truck lengths ahead of him. Keep in mind, this is with a bad clutch and about 80% of potential. I am guessing it ran in the ver low 14 range. So hopefully when I get my clutch and turn it up, I will be in the 13's. Pretty good for a truck with a stock HX-35, Stock Injectors, and Stock Clutch. Oh, my egt's were only around 580 Degree's post turbo. It pulled 36.5 psi on these runs.
