Putting in a new TC, should I do the rear main seal?
So my tranny parts(with any luck!) will arrieve tommorrow and I'll be installing them over the weekend.
Should I do the rear main while the tranny is out? No sings of leaks now but the truck has 270,000kms.
My instict is to leave it alone, I'm leaving on a big trip in a week and don't want to complicate things.
But common sense says maybe I should......
What say yous? How hard is it and how much is the seal? Does it come with an installer like the front crank?

I make a habit of installing a new seal whenever I have a transmission out, unless the miles are real low. It'd sure suck if yours started leaking in a month and you had to take it all apart again.
It's not cheap for a seal, between $50 and $100, the aftermarket one is a little cheaper than the Dodge one, but looks like the same seal reboxed. Yes, it comes with the installer.
