My local Cummins dealer only stocks Power Service but said he could order me Stanadyne.....what is the diffrence in the two......I'm in CA so the gelling isn't much of an issue

I know that PS and Stanadyne handle water differently. One emulsifies and one demulsifies. Forgot which is which.

Your local VW, Cheby, dealership, or truck stop should have it.

 

Personal preference, i used PS for a while then switched to stanadyne, I like how the truck quiets down with it in the tank. I got mine at Sheid diesel on the web

 

It has been around 6 months since I looked into addatives. I went with Stanadyne because they were the only one I could find that had tested and published the results of their addatives. It is on their web page. If I remember right the base fuel in their test had a lubicity rating of ~650 micro meters and after adding the stanadyne it tested around 440 micro meters.
