Anyone know how to fix the overdrive light on an auto?

Your '96 has the dash switch right?
There is a replaceable light bulb (actually two bulbs) inside the switch. Just pop the dash off after removing the two screws each that hold on the cup holder and ash tray, pop the dash off then remove the two screws that hold the OD off on. The switch pops apart for bulb replacement.
