Opies shafts
Does anyone know if Opie fabs his own shafts or is he buying from TCS out of Canada? I am just curious because i found a site that supplies race tranny parts and has oversized shafts.

by who? I am not saying he does not make them but there are VERY few people that actually make parts like this. a huge amount of parts like this come out of canada.

I by no means am trying to start a war or argument here, i am just wanting to find out where they are made. SONNAX is a HUGE manufacture of tranny parts and they are a US company. made in CHINA!.

Can anybody explain....
What the story is with IE and DTT? I called DTT about a Tranny this last week and was told they didn't use IE shafts anymore because they broke all the time and cost them (DTT) like $100k?
It seemed odd to me because his stuff has a really good reputation at least from what I have read.
Was it a combo of his shafts and something DTT does in their trannys? He told me they use SONNAX now and they don't break like the IE ones did.
Somebody set the story straight for me, please!

You are by no means starting an argument. If you would like to make a trip and help out I will put to work! lol
UNDER MY WATCH, EVERYTHING THAT IE MAKES... WAS, IS, AND ALWAYS WILL BE MADE IN THE USA. Making hardparts is a very difficult thing to do/get into. Initailly there where no other options when I got into racing my truck. I remember when others claimed the parts just werent needed. They of course weren't the ones being towed home from the track with a broken tranny. As we all know most every now promotes buying certain hardpart$.
This year design attempts have been made, even on the most popular parts to readily distinguish IE parts from others.

OPIE, THANK YOU! I want to apologize if I started a war, I in no way wanted to create an argument as you can see and very well know, these parts are not cheap and I and no one else would want to buy an inferior part. Thank you again and if I can get that way visiting family I would like to stop in and say hello

Something to keep in mind is that there is a certain flexplate that your not supposed to run with the Opie Shafts.
I honestly can't remember what kind it was, since I just put my stock one back one. I know a steel "little bit thicker" one was ok.
There was something about the plate causing issues with the shafts... I'm sure Opie has WAY more info that I can remember
