New tire pictures...
Got some new tires yesterday, 305/70R17E Nitto Terra Grapplers. Took some before and after pictures so y'all can see the difference between these and the stock Michelins, 265/75R17E.

I have them and I am very happy with them. They are a great all round, all terrain/hauling/towing tire. Not a big, loud off road mud tire, but not a wimpy street tire either. Just right (for what I need my truck for, anyway).

Thanks for the compliments. I have been happy with them so far, but only have a couple hundred miles on them. They probably brought my truck up 1.5 - 2 inches max. I did a tire size calculator on them before purchase, and it calculated a sidewall height increase of 1.1 inches over stock size. However, it looks/feels like more, since my tread was almost gone on my old ones. I have not had the chance yet to change my speedo, I was hoping maybe a DTR member in the Houston area could hook a fellow coal-burner up. The tire size calculator said a difference of 7% slow on the speedo. So I gotta watch my speed now. But, only time and miles will tell how good they are for me. I've heard alot of good reports, and alot of bad ones too. So we'll see...

All of the bad reports were of short tread life. However, for every report I heard / read of short tread life, there was one contrary to it. I believe that driving style and maintenence is paramount to long tire life. Time will only tell with these. The ride is great. It took less than 3 oz total to balance all 4 tires, so no vibration at all. I have them aired up to 65 psi, so a little more flex than my stock Michelins I kept at 80 psi. I do wonder if 65 psi will hurt my fuel economy, so I might bump them up to 80. Hardly any noise, but then again, the 5.9 with a straight pipe, will hide a lot of it. Very happy so far, very good price, good tire so far. I would recommend them.
