new exhaust

Yesturday i installed a 5" Turbo-Back straight exhaust on my 96 cummins regular cab 8ft bed. The down pipe is 4" and then goes right to a 5". I get alot of vibration when im in drive with the brake on, and also when i turn the wheel, im pretty sure its still hitting the engine bracket cuz it was worse right after we installed it so me and a buddy tried to bend it a little bit and it helped but not much and we called it quits for the night being 11:00pm. Does anyone know a good way to stop this vibrating/rattleing without breaking the downpipe flange bolts or anything else? should i hammer it in a few good whacks?

I just put the same system on my 96 club long bed. did the kit come with a hanger piece that goes on back side of t-case?. im assuming that its vibrating where the section of 5 inch goes through T-case crossmember. outside of the vibration it sounds like a friggin semi going down the road

With a 4" downpipe it's a tight squeeze between the engine and frame. I cut and put a small piece of heater hose on the tranny line that sticks out and touches the downpipe. There's about a 1cm gap on the other side of the downpipe between the frame. Loosen the downpipe bolts at the turbo and adjust the position then tighten it down. I stuck a piece of cardboard between the downpipe and frame to keep the downpipe from touching the frame as I tightened the bolts. Then I removed the cardboard and the gap remained. Otherwise it would touch and rattle from engine vibration. Sometimes on a U-turn I still get a little bit of rattle there.

Yeah you definitely need the hanger that goes into the tranny crossmember. It will hold everything from vibrating and twisting.
