Need rebuilt g56

Tranny's making a bad rubbing noise, but when you push the clutch in it stops. Tranny man thinks it is coming from the rear of the tranny. Knowone around these parts (corpus christi area) knows nothing about them. A new one is around $5400. Any ideas? It is an 05 with 250,000 miles.

Had tranny guy focus on the input shaft area. He pulled the tranny completely apart and found the bearing on the back side of the input shaft was developing a flat spot, thus giving me my noise. He is going to put a bearing kit in the tranny and put it back together. Everything else looks great for 248,000 miles he said.

thanks
