I am looking to get my dad a little more gitty up for his 07 5.9 auto for Christmas. He doesn't need anything off the charts but he tows more often than not (32ft stock trailer) so a little help in the towing department is needed (an extra mile/gallon wouldn't hurt either). This being said, I was looking at the Quad XZT 65 hp module but I'm not quite sure if it is designed for the 07 or just 03-06. If anybody has any experience with it or any other ideas for a towing chip I would appreciate you chimming in. Thanks in advance guys.

Although a little more expensive than a XZT I would recommend a Smarty Jr. or Sr. A good source is here www.wagnerandassociates.biz

 

Your right, an EGT gauge would be smart. I can get the recon gauge with the XZT which would be pretty trouble free it think. The Smart Jr. would be a good idea, I'm just trying to protect the tranny and TC as much as possible. Does anybody have experience towing heavy with the Smart Jr?

 

If you want to keep it on the mild side of things, get the Edge with attitude. I also has they egt with it, just need to tap the manifold

 

I had the quad xzt 65hp chip pulled it off and put a smarty Jr on there. I think the Jr is light years better and will never go back. Safer too it will lower egts. I'm running it without an egt gauge for now, supposed to be safe everyone that has a Jr has seen a drop in egts, but plan on putting one in there as soon as I get the time just to be safe.
