Modifying 2nd gen centercaps for H2 wheels
I just cut down my stock centercaps about 1/2" that I got off an 01 so they would slide all the way on to my new H2 wheels and over the lugs. The problem is the 4 metal clips that grab the lug nuts are not even close to being tight enough around the lugs so that the caps will stay in place. Does anyone have any pictures or an explanation of how the metal clips can be made to fit tight around the lugs. Do you bend them in or cut them or what? Also these wheels are the new style 08 H2 wheels if that matters at all. I appreciate any help you can offer.

yea, different style caps maybe from mine. I had to cut 1''off the cap to get the clips to catch, here's another photo. http://www.turbodieselregister.com/u...=26995&width=0

I did what was shown in this link and it worked very well for me. I found cutting these clips to be a PIA though.

I also have the 2nd gen caps and my clips look different than what is shown in the link but the principal was the same.
