low stall converter

Looking for input on low stall converters. The auto in my truck is going in for some reworking prior to the new exhaust and EZ race pro and the trans shop I deal with wants to know what stall rpm I want the converter to lock up at (1400-2100) Has anybody played with the stall speed? If so any down sides????

I think 1600 is what the aftermarket converters stall up at. The stock one is 1800-2200.

A low stall converter will really help out around town (won't have to give it as much go pedal to start going) plus it'll make it a little quicker. 1600 is about the norm. Call up any of the big 4 tranny companies and ask them what stall they recommend.

This is a hard to answer question.
The stall of a converter-especially behind the Cummins- must be matched to the power level.
A given converter might be just right in my truck, but too loose in Jim Fulmer, and way too tight in yours!
Talk to the people at the trans companies.

if yoru only running an ez i woudln't go real tight. when i went to the tightest triple disk suncoast made it took me a while to get used to how it drives.. and with my edge box turned down for street driving i'm at 280RWHP and with an ez you will be at like 230RWHP. the triple killed my low end even though i'm running decent power. I'm not sure about the stall with a single disk convertor though. I dont know if that makes a difference or not. Of course anything is better than stock though right...
