Lights flash with keyless?
Howdy,
Is there anyway to make it so the parking lights flash with the keyless commands? As is I have to be within audible range to hear if my doors actually locked or unlocked. At night I can use the dome light, but during the day that is pretty hard to see.
Thanks.

My 2002 came with the lights flashing and horn chirp feature turned on. I looked in the manual and found a way to turn it off. Should be the same way to turn it back on. Don't have the manual handy right now.

I took this out of my '01 manual:
To disable horn chirp feature:
1. Place the key in ignition and turn the key to the ON position (do not start engine.)
2. Press and hold the UNLOCK button on the transmitter for four to ten seconds.
3. While the UNLOCK button is pressed, press the LOCK botton on the transmitter and then release both bouttons.
4. To enable the feature again, repeat the above steps.
Good Luck.

I tried it a good half dozen times and it didn't work, just unlocked the doors. The owner's manual only says that the horn chirp feature is off at delivery and can be turned on by a dealer.
Just called the *******... they said they have to do it through the DRB and it'd cost $40. The scary part is he asked me if it was under warranty then he paused a second and said, oh you said it was a 98 right? Ok... thanks for the help.... <click>

To make the parking lights flash with my aftermarket keyless entry system, I just tapped into the back of the headlight switch. One of the terminals on the back of the switch belongs to the parking lights. Just soldered another wire there...

I was able to turn our chirp on after we got the truck. Sometimes it takes quite a few tries to get it right. My first diesel took me about a dozen times, this one was only about 3 tries. Just make sure that the key is turned to where all the lights on the dash come on.
