Leaf packs assembled!!!!
Me & pops finally put together my leaf packs today. Let's just say that after they were put together they prob weighed about 200-250lbs per pack, how you ask tractor springs baby! Got a buddy that works at a truckin outfit as a mech. always has these leaf packs (replaces them in pairs) that end up usually with a busted main leaf or two worked fine for what I wanted to accomplish Three inches wide they are and a half inch thick per leaf. The reason why I did this was due to my dying drivers rear leaf pack, a whimpy 3 plus an overload, was kickin the axle back causing it to sit almost an inch lower on the left rear hence pushing the truck down the road grinding down my right front tire. It's kind interesting that when I put the new and improved drivers side pack back in (just about had to break out the cherry picker) that I had to move my axle forward about a half inch. But anyway you might think man that thing must ride rough with 13 leafs, lets put it this way my dad's 72 w-200 power wagon would make you wince when you saw a ripple in the pavement ahead, mine surprisingly rides quite well not a kidney buster at all Probably due to the coil sprung front end now I'll finally be able to carry a freakin load in the thing. I'll post pics in my gallery soon.
Oh yeah the 4-3/4" stock blocks ain't there no more either!!
LIKE THE GM WHEEL CYLINDERS WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT!!!!!!

NOW NOW SCEPTICS,
Depends on how you look at it Actually it does ride great. I just never realized how slushy the stock springs were, sure it's a little stiff but nothing at all like one might think. My brother got...DIESEL? said why don't you just replace the packs with I-BEAMS but hey if any of you fellow DTR guys are ever up in Juneau pm me I'll take you for a ride I think you'll be shocked and not from buck board either!!!!!!!!

I have a hard time believing the stock springs are "slushy"......I can't hardly get mine to move.....guess I'm headed the wrong direction with Deaver softening up the rears for me.
northslope, if you're happy with the ride, that's all that matters. Glad it's working for you
Still skeptical that a 13 leaf pack doesn't rattle your teeth loose....

No cavities, no dentures, still have all the teeth not peein blood either. Understood 13 leafs does sound stiff, they are, just not too stiff for me. Drove the bosses 94 F-250 4x4 his rode much stiffer in the front than mine with d-25's. I think the reason why it doesn't seem bad to me at all is cause it's coil sprung up front. If it were say a 93 w-350 with 13 leafs I'd prob be in a body cast Swing by if your ever in the neighborhood!
