K & N--stock air box
Yep I did it. Didnt want to pay the high price to put a kit on my truck so I just cut down the stock box. Works pretty good and also puts off a lil extra whistle. What you guys think?

whatever works but now you're sucking in hot air, (as does mine), building a box and bringing colder air from outside the motor compartment would be better, I need to do that someday.

I see that your rig has dual 5" stacks, so I assume you needed more air flow. I would agree with you that from what I have seen, the after-market intakes do seem OP [over-priced!]
Curious on your opinion, and others, if you felt your old K&N existing filter is adequate for those of us that are staying closer to stock specs...save for 4" future exhaust upgrade?
Thanks,
Steve

mo flo
I bought the truck not to long ago and the boy just thought the stacks were cool so he had to have them. I didnt really need to open it up anymore just with the stacks but I have since then added more upgrades(programmer, boost fooler and such) so i thought it would be a wise idea to let it breath a lil more. Im hopin by the way I cut the box down that its not sucking as much hot air, but Im sure it is. You will be fine with stock air flow and 4'' stacks.
